There was an unpleasant smell of staleness and odour from the furniture and floor mat in the sitting area. The mat was very dirty with lots of hairs and bits. The floors were dirty. The white doors and door frames have lots of brown staining on them. The shower tray looked unclean with hairs etc. The glasses were smudgy with fingerprints on them. Crockery and cutlery all needed a good wash.\r\nIt was not a good feeling, in order to stay there we had to start cleaning the place, it was terrible. The windows needed to be open while we were in there as the smell from the settees and mat was strong and unpleasant. I, (Mrs.S) have a mild asthma condition which does not normally bother me too much but it was aggravated by the condition of this accommodation. I had to cover the chairs as best I could with towels to be able to sit on them. We did report this to you two days after our arrival as it was not improving. You sent a cleaner in that day and although slightly better it did not make that much difference. We got the vacuum cleaner out to try and clean the mat but this did not help as the smell from the vacuum was very strong. We think the dust bag must be over full, we did not attempt to open it, just tried to clean the mat with the hand brush but again not much good, it needs throwing away, and the settees need replacing. Totally unacceptable.\r\nThis is the first time we have had to write a report like this after a holiday stay. One drink there was enough for us. The entrance to the property is almost blocked by bushes. On entering there was the immediate smell of damp. This is not mentioned anywhere and as an Asthmatic not welcome when looking at the ceilings it is obvious where the damp Mark's have been attempted to be cleaned. The welcome book is the worst I have ever seen. We could not operate the oven and eventually found instructions in a cupboard. The no stick pans need throwing they can not be used as the not stick is peeling and would be in your food. This is a health and safety matter. There was no mention of lots of required items being hidden under the beds. The window next to the microwave is broken. I had to scramble through the bushes to push the window closed whilst my wife secured it from the inside. I do not understand why you expect guests to be your quality assurance? It is also a managed property so you do not get the touchy feely of the owners making this special for you. This is also not highlighted. I all a tired run down site and a tired run down property. I doubt you will publish this on you website as it is to close to the truth. There was a small temporary marquee set up for people to use. \r\nThe chalet is clean, and very simply furnished, throws hiding tired and faded furniture; so would benefit from a refresh which could be done quite cheaply. A few cushions on the sofa for comfort, replace the broken tv unit, and some outside seating would be a welcome addition. We were allowed to check in earlier as no one was in the property before us, again it was a lovely gesture from the owners especially after a 7hr trip from Manchester with a 2yr old!\r\nThe chalet is spotless and exactly as it looks on the photos. It has everything you could possibly need all you need to take is your clothes and food. \r\nThe beds are really comfortable and the bedrooms are so bright and airy. It was the first time my son had slept in a single bed and he loved it!\r\nThe chalet is in a great part of the site too close to all the amenities but still a quiet location. The chalet has a large grassed area to the front and side which is great as you can watch little ones run around from the comfort of the decking.\r\nWe canât speak highly enough about this place, not only was it perfect it was also reasonably priced especially for the Jubilee Week! In this day of covid etc , it is SO important that everything should be spotless . In all honesty, we could never say that this was the case at Summer Breeze.
