and fell in love with it - we already have a return visit planned later this year! The house is warm and welcoming with a lovely kitchen/diner and 3 good bedrooms. All the furnishings and equipment were to a very high standard and it was spotlessly clean when we arrived - the kids immediately logged on to the Wifi internet while we relaxed in the hot tub! We were also delighted to find that the house not only welcomed dogs and had a fully enclosed private garden, but the owners had also provided thoughtful 'doggy' extras such as rugs and food bowls. The cottage is located right in the centre of Croyde village and has the benefit of off-road parking (not often the case with village period properties as we've found in the past). It is also a stone's throw from a good local pub serving excellent food. A short, scenic walk takes you to Croyde Bay where dogs are allowed on the beach during the off-peak season. We had a few gripes with various things - the cooker had no guide decals so cooking was trial and error. The DVD player didn’t work and TV on its last legs. Garden furniture not fit for purpose. Garden borders overgrown with weeds.\r\nNon the less, we were very comfortable during our stay. Crisp white bedding and lovely large fluffy white towels provided. Kitchen was very well kitted out and had everything we needed. Previous reviews had obviously been heeded and the various bits and pieces added . \r\nIf all the little niggles are sorted out, we would consider another stay. The Xmas decoration was fantastic, it made us feel really like home to home ! Thank you for installing the dryer, it was a life saver, as the walks got really muddy and wet, but all the worthwhile! Overall the property was really well kept, very nice prepared and instructions what to do and where to go were really useful. Thank you for making our Christmas time special. There is an ariel photo of Croyde attached to the details for Hectors House which we assumed were photos of the actual property. It even says Hectors House above the photo. However it is a general picture, and Hectors House isn't even in it. DVD player broken. TV channels missing. No instructions for house .Bring everything with you - no hand soap, dishwasher tablets, toilet cleaner, T towels.
