No washing up bowl and the sink plug doesn't stop the water from draining away quite quickly. While there's a dish washer you still need to do some in the sink.\r\nThe tumble dryer filter hadn't been cleaned for ages and was thick with fluff. The sweeping brush had had it's handle snapped in half. No basket for taking washing out to the line. \r\nA number of light bulbs had popped before we arrived.\r\nThe mattresses in the bedrooms were passed their best and the duvet itself, after we stripped the bed before departing, was very old. It was hard to tell if it had been cleaned. There are gorgeous views of the bay from the front bedroom windows. Whilst there we visited the local bar/restaurant, Arundels. The food was delicious and our 1 year enjoyed playing in the play park while we finished off our food. There is a local art gallery and coffee shop within walking distance too. \r\nThe house had all the necessities and no more. We stayed here with our 3 kids. 13, 10 and 1. While they each had their own double room they were stuck a few times for things to do. There's a set of swings outside and a large garden but no toys at all inside and no selection of DVD's as stated. Although not always necessary in holiday rentals, a BBQ would have been lovely too. The wifi was good and Sky TV provided some freeview channels. \r\nWe appreciate the fact that this is someones house and that while staying there we have a responsibility to keep it clean and tidy but the to-do list stuck on the fridge was going abit far. When you go on holiday the last thing you want is to be given a list of chores like moping the floors, cleaning the oven, fridge and bathrooms!! \r\nAlso, don't forget to keep some Euro's for the electricity. There are three large bedrooms (very comfy) and a fantastic bathroom upstairs, loads of hanging and storage areas in the rooms and in the under eaves areas.\r\nThe open plan kitchen/diner and lounge is both large and comfortable. The kitchen includes everything you will need, modern, loads of worktop for the keen chefs out there, large fridge and completely separate freezer. Separate utility area houses the washing machine and leads to a very large second bathroom with walk in shower/wet room and toilet.\r\nOutside there is plenty of space for chilling out with rattan style furniture and benches and a large covered area at the rear of the cottage for washing (i left my bike under there). But there are plenty of good restaurants and takeaways to choose from too. \r\nWe were blessed with amazing weather, however there is lots to do even if the weather is good or bad. Bantry is perfectly situated for exploring further on down the peninsula's with Barley cove, Mizen head, ring of Kerry and Dingle approximatly 1-1.5 hours drive either way. The drive passes by so quickly as there is so much beautiful scenery to take in. \r\n\r\nThere is lots of areas to explore, national parks, pony trekking, kayaking and boat trips to name a few. We loved the setting - so quiet, just the sound of cows and swallows flying over head - and Leap is ideally located to visit the stunning coast and countryside of West Cork, being 30 mins from Clonakilty and Skibbereen. We got used to driving up the winding lane from the village (about 10 mins by car) - sat nav was a godsend, as were the excellent instructions on how to find it (approach from the centre of the village). We loved the local Leap Inn and the waterfall. The owner was so kind, leaving us lovely scones and other snacks on our first evening and a beautiful bunch of local flowers, and very friendly. The decor could do with an update in places but this is completely outweighed by all the cleanliness, mod cons, helpful host and the location.
