Herne Bay has been a popular holiday destination for many years. With its award-winning shingle beach and restored Victorian memorial gardens, this offers families the perfect, relaxing holiday location. Herne Bay's seafront is home to the world's first freestanding purpose-built Clock Tower, built in 1837 which looks down onto the well-kept promenade. As expected when visiting an English seaside town, there are many eateries serving everything from traditional fish and chips to exotic delicacies, and of course, no seaside town is complete without an ice cream parlour and Herne Bay has two! It is in an excellent location on the edge of Herne Bay. On one side it is a short walk to shops and the high street, and the other way open greenery and beautiful walking routes begin, and its close to the beach. The cottage is easily accessible, all on the ground level, with a walk-in shower in the shower room. A warm welcome awaited us, with tea bags, coffee, milk, dog biscuits, and even a few luxurious touches. The owners, who live nearby, are welcoming and available if needed, yet never intrusive. A lovely place for a holiday, whether youâre looking to relax or be active.

Helpful and friendly owner Alan, came to our rescue when upon our arrival, in the darkness, we could not see to gain entry to the property via the front gate security lock. Only negative observed was that each tea/ coffee cup in the cupboard was dirty with brown stains at the bottom of each cup.
Christine
Itâs compact but perfectly contained. The patio area at the front was useful for relaxing after a day out. Real grass would have been a bonus for Agnes ( retriever) but the park and beach is a stones throw away so it wasnât a problem The double bed is extremely comfy. Off road parking was a real bonus
